Value of Antique Postal Notes 1883 & 1884

Antique Postal Notes

There are seven types of United States postal notes.  All seven types are rare and collectible.  The most valuable ones are printed on paper that has a golden color to it.  These are rare because they were only issued for 1883 and 1884.  They can have serial number one or higher.  The example pictured below is from 1883.  It is for one cent and it is signed by the local postmaster.  This was likely saved as a souvenir.  Collectors refer to gold postal notes as type ones.  Please consider me as a buyer.  Sales@AntiqueMoney.com

The postal note shown below was printed in 1893.  These are more common, but still quite collectible.  Don’t forget that denomination, serial number, town of issue, and condition are all very important when valuing a postal note.  There are postal notes from 1885, 1886, 1887, 1888, 1889, 1890, 1891, and 1892, I just chose not to show them here.  However, they all do exist, and the are collectible.
