1st January 1921 Government of The Leeward Islands Bank Notes
At first glance it may appear that currency from the Leeward Islands is common simply because we have a picture of each denomination. On closer examination you will see that the two shillings sixpence note is a trial proof, as is the five shillings note. The only issued note we are showing is for the ten shillings denomination and it happens to be the serial number 1 example. Issued bank notes from The Leeward Islands are just plain rare. Not many of these bank notes were printed, and of course only a small percentage have survived today. Each note has a portrait of George V and references the issue location of Antigua.
