Value of 1960 Five Pounds Bank Note from Jamaica
1960 Queen Elizabeth II Five Pounds Jamaica Bank Note
Description: Queen Elizabeth II made her first appearance on Jamaican paper money in 1960. These five pound notes are actually surprisingly rare. Not many were issued. Low grade examples are still available for around $40. High grade notes can be worth over $1,000! That is very impressive for such a relatively new issue.
Varieties: These can be dated as 17th March 1960 or 4th July 1960. Notes with the March date are about twice as rare as notes with the July date.
Portrait: Queen Elizabeth II
