Value of 1895 $5 Republic of Hawaii Silver Certificate
Value of 1895 $5 Republic of Hawaii Silver Certificate
Type: Hawaii Silver Certificate
Denomination: Five Dollars
Year: 1895
Comments: Out of the fifteen early Hawaiian bank notes we have pictured in our guide, this is one only two for which issued examples can occasionally be found. And we stress the word occasionally. 1895 $5 silver certificates from Hawaii are still very rare. The example we have pictured below is heavily circulated and damaged. It is still worth a couple thousand dollars at least. A fully intact example with nice pen signatures and great eye appeal would be worth considerably more money.
