The Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation
The Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation Bank Notes
The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation originally opened in 1865. It printed bank notes under the name of The Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Company (not corporation) in 1865. We do have one 1865 bank note in our guide below. Everything else was printed under the corporation name after 1866. This was one of only two banks printing money for use in Hong Kong between about 1895 and 1911. Lots of bank notes were issued during its lifetime. Despite some high printing numbers, many bank notes from The Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation can be quite scarce. Our guide below has pictures for most bank notes.
