It usually takes most new collectors a couple of years before they discover the amazing rarities held by The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Legend has it that many notes in this collection were from Colonel Green, the famous numismatist. He apparently had a tax debt and paid the debt with his currency collection at face value. This was done at a time when these banknotes were rare but no one was really paying a premium for them. A few notes in the collection are easily worth over a million dollars.
