Prices for Two Dollar 1891 Treasury Notes

Value Guide for 1891 Two Dollar Bank Notes

Year:  1891

Denomination:  Two Dollar Bank Note

Type:  Treasury Note (Coin Note)

$2 Bill Front Picture:

Description:   This is the second and last type of treasury note issued by The U.S. These are actually quite popular with collectors. The 1891 example is usually a much cheaper alternative to the similar looking $2 bill from 1890.

Seal Type:  All 1891 $2 treasury notes have the same type of red seal as you see on the example above.

Varieties:   There are three signature combinations that were used on 1891 $2 treasury notes. Each signature combination is equally rare, so it does little to affect the value.

Portrait:  James McPherson

Value:  Circulated 1891 $2 treasury notes are actually pretty common. You can buy a very nice looking lightly circulated note for less than $600. There are also large quantities of choice uncirculated notes available as well. Prices for those start out at about $1,500. Please contact us for exact pricing information.

NEED AN APPRAISAL OR WANT TO SELL?

We buy all of these 1891 $2 bank notes issued by The United States. The main factors that affect the value are the condition and sometimes the serial number. We have to see pictures in order to provide any value information. You can text pictures to 864-430-4020. You can also attach pictures to an email message. You’ll never know what we would have offered unless you ask. The value might surprise you in a good way.
