Prices for Two Dollar 1875 Legal Tenders

Value Guide for 1875 Two Dollar Bank Notes

Year:  1875

Denomination:  Two Dollar Bank Note

Type:  Legal Tender (United States Note)

$2 Bill Front Picture:

Description:   Please don’t get 1875 $2 legal tender notes (as seen above) confused with 1875 national bank notes. Legal tender notes are much more common in most cases. You can go back to the value guide to learn about national bank notes if you have one.

Seal Type:  The red seal you see on the example above is the same type found on all 1875 $2 legal tender notes.

Varieties:   Four different types of 1875 $2 legal tender notes were printed. They are either signed by Allison and New or Allison and Wyman. The most common two types do not have a series letter stamped on it. Series A and Series B notes are about twice as rare. Each note is clearly marked with the series letter if it is present.

Portrait:  Thomas Jefferson

Value:  The majority of 1875 $2 bills sell for around $200 to $500. As a type they are by no means scarce. Even notes in perfect condition are available. However, the price is of course several times higher than $500. Please contact us for exact pricing information.

We buy all of these 1875 $2 bank notes issued by The United States. The main factors that affect the value are the condition and sometimes the serial number. We have to see pictures in order to provide any value information. You can text pictures to 864-430-4020. You can also attach pictures to an email message. You’ll never know what we would have offered unless you ask. The value might surprise you in a good way.
