Value and History: These are kind of odd bank notes. A national bank had to originally charter or recharter between 1888 and 1901, and still be in business past 1908 in order to issue 1882 date backs. I know that is confusing, but trust us on the information. Not very many banks fit that criteria. So these blue seal notes are actually fairly scarce. Sadly though, they just aren’t tremendously popular in today’s market. If you are looking for an underappreciated area to collect, these bank notes might be for you.
