Values of $100 1882 Brown Back National Bank Notes

Price Guide for Rare Brown Back National Bank Notes

Years:  1882-1901

Denomination:  One Hundred Dollar Bank Note

Type:  Brown Back National Bank Note

Vignette:  Battle of Lake Erie, Liberty

$100 Bill Front Picture:

Value and History:   These were issued by national banks that were in business between 1882 and 1901. Some were actually printed as late as 1908. Very few national banks chose to issue such a high denomination. That is a big reason why these are scarce. Generic examples in circulated condition from common banks usually sell for around $4,000 to $6,000. Notes from rare banks in high grades can be worth two or three times more than that.

We buy all of these $100 bank notes issued by The United States. The market for rare paper money is very active right now. If you were ever considering selling then now might be a good time to take a price quote. You can text pictures to 864-430-4020. You can also attach pictures to an email message. You’ll never know what we would have offered unless you ask. Our information is always free.
