Value of One Dollar 1917 Legal Tenders
Price Guide for 1917 One Dollar Banknotes
Year: 1917
Denomination: One Dollar Bank Note
Type: Legal Tender (United States Note)
$1 Bill Front Picture:
Description: This is commonly called a “saw-horse”. It is the last note of this design type.
Seal Type: These bank notes all have the same red seal as you see above.
Varieties: There are five different types of 1917 $1 bills. Most are relatively common. The Burke Elliott signature (Burke on the left) is the key to the series.
Portrait: George Washington
Value: We would say that 99% of 1917 $1 legal tender notes are worth between $20 and $150. The very best truly uncirculated examples are worth in excess of $200. Keep an eye out for low serial numbers and star notes. Both of those would command more money. Please contact us for exact values.
