Value of One Dollar 1917 Legal Tenders

Price Guide for 1917 One Dollar Banknotes

Year:  1917

Denomination:  One Dollar Bank Note

Type:  Legal Tender (United States Note)

$1 Bill Front Picture:

Description:   This is commonly called a “saw-horse”. It is the last note of this design type.

Seal Type:  These bank notes all have the same red seal as you see above.

Varieties:   There are five different types of 1917 $1 bills. Most are relatively common. The Burke Elliott signature (Burke on the left) is the key to the series.

Portrait:  George Washington

Value:  We would say that 99% of 1917 $1 legal tender notes are worth between $20 and $150. The very best truly uncirculated examples are worth in excess of $200. Keep an eye out for low serial numbers and star notes. Both of those would command more money. Please contact us for exact values.

We buy all of these 1917 $1 bank notes from The United States. The seal type, signature combination, serial number, and condition are very important. We have to see pictures in order to provide any value information. You can text pictures to 864-430-4020. You can also attach pictures to an email message. Please give us a chance to make an offer. The value might surprise you in a good way.
