NBN Counterfeit Part 2: New York City $2

Below is a picture of another counterfeit national bank note that recently hit our inbox.  The pictures are rather blurry, and the front of the note actually looks pretty decent.  Fortunately for us, this is listed as a known counterfeit with serial number 55.  This is easiest to identify as fake based on the back of the note.  Any time you see really blotchy colors, especially green and black, that is a sign you are not dealing with an authentic bank note.  The forgers didn’t have the correct technology to perfect the detailed engravings found on most vignettes.  An authentic $2 national bank note from The Ninth National Bank of the City of New York would be a great find and probably worth at least $1,500.
