When dealing with the smaller denominations of series 591 military payment certificates, you really have to care a lot about history. The numismatic value of series 591 ten cent MPC is very minimal. These are more about the story. Interestingly enough, these notes only circulated on military bases in five different countries (Cyprus, Iceland, Japan, Korea, and The Philippines), and only for about two and half years. Each fractional note has the same design with the most notable feature being the statue of liberty. They also found room to write “for use only in united states military establishments by united states authorized personnel in accordance with applicable rules and regulations” on the front and back of each note.
