There are lots of numbers printed on the front of series 471 one dollar military payment certificates. You can see the denomination of one dollar. There is also an eight digit serial number; and of course 471 is stamped on there. There is also another small number (under 100). That is the position number. It never really affects the value, but some collectors do have a favorite number. In terms of design, series 471 $1 bills are just like the others. They have a pink front with text that reads “for use only in united states military establishments by united states authorized personnel in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.”
